Tangy, slightly smoky green salsa from roasted tomatillos and peppers. A totally different flavor profile from red salsa — bright, acidic, and complex. Excellent on eggs and tacos.

Ingredients

🌱 From Your Homestead

  • tomatillos (1 lb husked)
  • jalapeño or serrano (2)
  • fresh cilantro

🛒 From the Store

  • onion
  • garlic

  • salt
  • cumin optional

How to Make It

  1. Gather your ingredients: tomatillos (1 lb husked), jalapeño or serrano (2), fresh cilantro, onion, garlic, and the rest.
  2. Prep your homestead ingredients — wash, chop, and measure: tomatillos (1 lb husked), jalapeño or serrano (2), fresh cilantro.
  3. Broil the tomatillos, peppers, and onion 4 inches from the heat until everything is charred and blistered — about 10 minutes. Blend everything including the charred bits and juices for maximum flavor.
