Garden herbs dried slowly in a low oven and blended into a custom seasoning mix. Shelf-stable for two years, far more fragrant than store-bought dried herbs, and a perfect gift in a small jar.

Ingredients

🌱 From Your Homestead

  • fresh woody herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage, oregano — any combination, 4 cups total)

🛒 From the Store

  • small spice jars or zip bags for storage
  • parchment paper

How to Make It

  1. Gather your ingredients: fresh woody herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage, oregano — any combination, 4 cups total), small spice jars or zip bags for storage, parchment paper.
  2. Prep your homestead ingredients — wash, chop, and measure: fresh woody herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage, oregano — any combination, 4 cups total).
  3. Dry at 180°F for 2-3 hours with the oven door cracked open an inch. The cracked door lets moisture escape — otherwise herbs steam instead of dry and turn brown instead of staying green.
  4. Cook for approximately 3 hr + cooling. Adjust to taste and serve 48 portions.
  5. Plate, enjoy, and share with your household!
