Fresh cranberries pulsed with orange, ginger, and a touch of sugar into a raw, vibrant relish that puts canned cranberry sauce to shame. The relish you make once and never go back to the can. Ready in 5 minutes, better the next day, and essential on any holiday table.

Ingredients

🌱 From Your Homestead

  • orange (1 whole, including peel, quartered and seeded)

🛒 From the Store

  • fresh cranberries (12 oz)
  • sugar (1/2 cup)
  • fresh ginger (1/2-inch knob)
  • pinch of salt

How to Make It

  1. Gather your ingredients: orange (1 whole, including peel, quartered and seeded), fresh cranberries (12 oz), sugar (1/2 cup), fresh ginger (1/2-inch knob), pinch of salt.
  2. Prep your homestead ingredients — wash, chop, and measure: orange (1 whole, including peel, quartered and seeded).
  3. Pulse in a food processor — don't purée. You want a rough, chunky texture with visible pieces of cranberry and orange. Over-process and you get a smoothie; 8–10 pulses gives you the right consistency. Make it a day ahead; the flavors meld overnight.
  4. Cook for approximately 10 min + 1 hr chill. Adjust to taste and serve 12 portions.
  5. Plate, enjoy, and share with your household!
